Intention: The Seed of Action

“The journey of a year is drawing to a close. Cherish the moments, all of them, even the ups and downs. Honor the lessons you’ve learned, and the people who helped you learn them. Honor the journey your soul mapped out for you. Trust all the places you’ve been. Make a scrapbook in your heart to help you remember. Look back for a moment. Reflect in peace. Then let this year draw to a close. All parts of the journey are sacred and holy. You’ve learned that lesson by now. Take time to honor this ending though it’s never really the end. Go to sleep tonight. When you wake up tomorrow a new adventure will begin. Remember the words you were told when this last adventure began, the words whispered quietly to your heart: Let the journey unfold. Let it be magical. The way has been prepared. People will be expecting you. Yes, you are being led.” ❤️ ~ Melody Beattie

Goals vs. Intentions: I think evaluations and goals are useful, but I am a bigger fan of reflections and intentions. Intentions come from the heart and soul — they are rooted in the values most important to you. I have found my goals to be more authentic and impactful if I slow down, reflect, and connect with my deepest intentions. Intention is the seed of action.
“Setting your intention is like drawing an arrow from the quiver of your heart.” ❤️ ~ Bruce Black

Create an intention (or two) with what you wrote in the meditation exercise using the following guidelines. Take your time. Let it be authentic and impactful. Affirm what you desire, instead of what you fear.

Four Principles of Effective Intentions:
Present — stated in the present tense, as if already happening
Positive — stated in the form of what is desired
Concise — clear and to the point
Resonates — feels right with your true self

“Embracing intention infuses every breath, every moment with a deep sense of peace, confidence and clarity.” ❤️ ~ Erin Madore

Let the journey of a new year unfold! Inhale the NOW, the NEW — exhale the OLD!

May this be the BEST year yet! 🎉

Embrace 2020 ❤︎

EXPANSION began 2018. ADVENTURE filled 2019. I am ready to EMBRACE 2020. I have been receiving this theme and word all month!

em·brace | \ im-ˈbrās \

Definition of embrace

1a: to clasp in the arms : HUG
  b: CHERISH, LOVE
2: ENCIRCLE, ENCLOSE
3a: to take up especially readily or gladly embrace a cause
b: to avail oneself of : WELCOME, embraced the opportunity to study further
4a: to take in or include as a part, item, or element of a more inclusive whole, charity embraces all acts that contribute to human welfare

I hope to hug, love, and encircle more. To treasure every moment with my teen daughters while they are still at home. To expand my client circle, and help encourage health and healing for many.

I intend to embrace new opportunities to learn, and to deepen my practice and business, while yet prioritizing daily quiet time to connect fully with God, filling my heart and soul with everything I need to be a better human.
What theme or word is developing for YOU as this new decade approaches? Make time to meditate amongst the busyness. Truly search your heart and soul. Lean in. Listen and receive wisdom from Divine guidance.
“Finally, beloved friends, be cheerful! Repair whatever is broken among you, as your hearts are being knit together in perfect unity. Live continually in peace, and God, the source of love and peace, will mingle with you. Greet and embrace one another with the sacred kiss.” ~ 2 Corinthians 13:11-12 TPT

Please stay connected with me through Mailchimp. I will be sending occasional email blasts with schedule updates, community events, and new retreat offerings for 2020. ❤︎

Be Still.

✨Love ~ Serve ~ Inspire✨

Be still and know that I AM God. ~ Psalm 46:10
Be still and know I AM.
Be still and know.
Be still.
Be.

Our intention this week is to explore MEDITATION. In the classical yoga tradition, asana yoga is practiced as a preparation for seated meditation. Yoga Nidra, Restorative, and Yin Yoga are also wonderful meditative practices. What exactly is meditation? The definition is “to think deeply or focus for a time for spiritual purposes or to relax. To think deeply or carefully about something.” Whatever we think deeply or carefully about becomes what we meditate on. What fills your mind, my friend? The Hebrew word for meditate is DOMAH, and is literally translated as “to liken, compare, to make oneself like.” Whatever we meditate on, think deeply about, is what we become like. The more we sit with our thoughts, the more likely we are to act…
